About the Fabric Design 'Mai'a: Ancient Hawaiian Plants in the Ua Kea Rain' : Ti & CoCo is located on Uakea road in Hana, where our studio looks out at Hana Bay. This design is inspired by Hana's famous white misty rain, known as ‘Noe Noe Ua Kea' in Hawaiian. When this rain blows in, it softly blankets the entire Hana Bay, turning it into a magical, mystical place. One day, while looking out the window, suddenly the Ua Kea came in. It mingled so beautifully with the Banana trees in the yard and the inspiration for this design was born.
Sustainability : Linen is one of the most sustainable plants for fabric production. Considerably less water and toxic pesticides, insecticides, synthetic fertilizer are used to grow them compared to cotton, and the fiber is know for its long lasting strength.
